3 person game: Single Deck, deal 15 cards to each player, starting from the left, three cards at a time, also place three cards in the center of the table, this is the kitty.
4 person game: Double Deck, deal 20 cards to each player, starting from the left, four cards at a time.
Once the bid is won, and the trump is announced, you put your meld down for counting, shown above.
The Play
Each trick consists of a lead and a play. The non-dealer leads; thereafter the winner of each trick leads next. When a trump is led, it wins the trick unless the opponent plays a higher trump. When any other suit is led, the card led wins unless the opponent plays a higher card of the same suit or a trump. The leader may lead any card, and the opponent must beat the card if they can, if you do not have the suit played, you must play trump if out of the suit played, even if you can not beat the trump played.
At the end of each hand the Aces, Tens and Kings are worth one point each, and you get one point for last trick in single deck for a total of 25 points, or two points for last trick in double deck for at total of 50 points available..
These totals are added to your meld bid, if the person or team taking the bid does not get enough to go above their bid, then they go backward the amount that they bid. The opponent in single deck must get at least one point during game to keep their meld which is added to their points. In double deck, if the opponents does not get at least 20 points during game, then they do not get to keep their meld received before the hand, as long as they get 20 points then combine their meld with points.
Game Duration:
Usually in single deck, you will play eight hands and double deck five hands, who has the higher score at the end wins.
